About Fundraise Up Implementation in 60 seconds

What this is: Lake One implements Fundraise Up for nonprofits and connects it cleanly to HubSpot CRM, so donor data, receipts, and reporting are right from day one.

Who it is for: Mid to enterprise-sized nonprofits running, or moving to, HubSpot as their CRM who want online giving that converts and data they can trust.

What you get: A configured Fundraise Up account, a live HubSpot integration, donor and gift data mapped correctly, automated receipting, and a team that stays after launch.

What makes us different: Most agencies implement HubSpot alongside Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, and a half-dozen other platforms.

We do not.

HubSpot is the only CRM we build on, nonprofits are who we build for, and we are one of the highest-rated, most-accredited nonprofit HubSpot partners in the ecosystem.

We do not stop at the donate button. We engineer the giving layer into HubSpot and the back office so it informs fundraising, marketing, and finance.

What a Fundraise Up implementation with Lake One includes

A real implementation is more than installing a donate button. Anyone can drop a form on a page. The work that matters is making the giving data flow into HubSpot and the back office, so it informs fundraising, marketing, and finance decisions instead of sitting in a silo. That takes architecture and engineering. Here is the scope we run:

Account and form configuration. Donation forms, campaign pages, recurring giving, donor portal, and checkout, all configured for conversion and on-brand. Fundraise Up forms are built to convert meaningfully better than legacy giving pages, and we tune them to your causes and appeals rather than shipping defaults.

HubSpot integration. This is the part that matters and the part others skip. We connect Fundraise Up to HubSpot so every gift, donor, and recurring plan flows into the CRM with the right properties, associations, and lifecycle stages. No CSV exports, no duplicate records, no reconciliation headaches.

Donor and gift data architecture. We design how donors, gifts, pledges, and recurring plans are modeled in HubSpot so your reporting and segmentation actually work. This is where most DIY setups quietly break.

Automated receipting. Tax receipts that fire automatically, branded correctly, and logged against the donor record. We have built custom receipting tooling for clients who outgrew the out-of-the-box options.

Accounting and back-office sync. For finance teams that need it, we have built GL exports and reconciliation flows so giving data lands in your accounting system without manual entry.

Campaign and appeal setup. Annual campaigns, emergency appeals, recurring giving drives, and events, configured to use Fundraise Up's AI-driven asks and HubSpot's automation together.

Training and handoff. Your team learns the system. We document it. You are not dependent on us to run a campaign.

How we are different from other HubSpot and Fundraise Up partners

Plenty of agencies will tell you they implement HubSpot and Fundraise Up. Here is what actually sets us apart, and why it matters for your giving data.

We are HubSpot-only. They are not. Most of the partners you are comparing us to implement HubSpot alongside Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, and a stack of other platforms. We made a deliberate choice to go all-in on HubSpot for nonprofits. That focus is why our integrations are deeper and our HubSpot work is sharper. You are not getting a team that does a little of everything.

We are one of the highest-rated, most-accredited nonprofit HubSpot partners in the ecosystem. Lake One carries 30-plus client reviews and a deep bench of HubSpot accreditations and certifications. Compare that to partners with a handful of reviews and a broader-but-shallower platform focus. When you are trusting someone with your donor data, the depth of the track record matters.

We treat Fundraise Up as the giving layer in a system, not a standalone form. This is the real difference. A donate button is easy. Making sure every gift, donor, and recurring plan flows into HubSpot, into your receipting, and into your accounting, cleanly and in real time, so data drives fundraising, marketing, and finance decisions, is hard. It takes data architecture and real engineering. Not every Fundraise Up partner can do that work. We do it as a matter of course.

That changes what is possible:

  • Native, real-time sync. Gifts and donors flow into HubSpot as they happen, mapped to the right objects and properties.
  • Custom workflows. We have built coded HubSpot workflows that route gifts, trigger stewardship, and handle edge cases the standard integration cannot.
  • Receipting at scale. When the default receipting was not enough for a client moving off Blackbaud, we built a Receipt Manager to handle it inside their HubSpot environment.
  • Accounting and back-office sync. We have built a GL export pipeline (AWS Lambda) so finance gets clean, scheduled data instead of manual reconciliation, and giving data informs the budget.
  • Legacy CRM migrations. Coming off Blackbaud, Raiser's Edge, Kindful, Luminate, or another legacy platform? We migrate the donor history and stand up Fundraise Up and HubSpot together so you launch on a clean foundation.

If your nonprofit is on a different CRM, here is the honest answer: we build on HubSpot, and only HubSpot. For organizations moving to HubSpot, including from legacy platforms, that focus is the entire advantage. If you are committed to staying on another CRM long term, we are probably not your implementation partner, and we would rather tell you that now than take work we are not built to do best.

FAQ

What does a Fundraise Up implementation include?
A full implementation covers account and donation form configuration, the integration to your CRM, donor and gift data mapping, automated receipting, campaign setup, and team training. Lake One implements all of it and connects Fundraise Up natively to HubSpot.
How long does a Fundraise Up implementation take?
A focused implementation typically runs 2-4 weeks, depending on the CRM integration, whether you are migrating from a legacy platform, and how many campaigns and forms you need at launch.
How much does Fundraise Up implementation cost?
Implementation cost depends on scope, the complexity of your CRM integration, and any data migration. Lake One offers project, managed services, and hourly engagements. Fundraise Up itself has no annual platform fee and works on a transaction-cost model.
Do I need a consultant to implement Fundraise Up?
Not strictly. Fundraise Up is designed to be approachable. But the value is in the integration, the data architecture, and the receipting and reporting around the donation form, which is where most teams want experienced help. A consultant pays for itself when your giving data has to be clean and your finance and development teams have to trust it.
How does Fundraise Up integrate with HubSpot?
Fundraise Up connects to HubSpot through a native, API-based integration that syncs donors, gifts, and recurring plans in real time. Lake One configures the data model, properties, and workflows so the data is usable for segmentation, automation, and reporting, not just stored.
Can you connect Fundraise Up to Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or our CRM?
We build on HubSpot, and only HubSpot, and we connect Fundraise Up to it natively and in real time. If you are on Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, or a legacy platform and want to move to HubSpot, that migration is core to what we do. If you are committed to staying on your current CRM, we are likely not the right fit, and we will tell you so rather than stretch into work we do not do best.
Is Fundraise Up right for our nonprofit?
It is a strong fit for nonprofits with meaningful online giving who want higher conversion and clean donor data, especially on HubSpot. It is a weaker fit if you have very low online volume or no one to own the system after launch. We will assess fit honestly on a consult.
What makes Lake One different from other Fundraise Up implementation partners?
Three things. First, HubSpot is the only CRM we build on, while most partners spread across Salesforce, Raiser's Edge, and others, so our HubSpot integrations go deeper. Second, we are one of the highest-rated and most-accredited nonprofit HubSpot partners in the ecosystem, with 30-plus reviews and multiple accreditations. Third, we engineer the giving layer into HubSpot and the back office, including custom workflows, receipting, and accounting exports, so giving data informs fundraising, marketing, and finance. Most implementers set up the donate button and stop there.
